Road Marking Materials

Conventional traffic striping materials are coated with a surface layer of reflective glass spheres. These special spheres reflect light from the vehicle's headlights back to the driver's eyes. This offers delineation of traffic lines at night.

Supalux traffic paints meet stringent Australian Standards and Government approvals. As with everything, there are certain instances when one material or application is more suitable than another. Supalux have therefore developed various products and combinations of products that suit various traffic conditions and road surfaces.

Supalux have invested over 20 years of research and development into Road Marking materials. Initially as a manufacturer of coatings and a supplier to Government, Supalux took the opportunities provided by Government privatization some 16 years ago and decided that being an applicator as well, was the only way to continue providing the benefits of research and development with quality and safety for the harsh, wet, and lengthy night driving conditions prevailing on Australian roads.

Supalux “Night Glo” safety marking spheres, meet the stringent requirements for retro-reflectivity with superior roundness, clarity, uniformity and refractive index. Supalux reflective glass spheres are environmentally friendly with low heavy metals concentrations meeting the Australian Standard 2009:2006. Supalux maintains a NATA/ISO Registered laboratory to ensure each batch meets standards of the highest quality.

Our machinery is modern and efficient, while we are always keeping abreast with world trends in the development of materials and equipment that would continue to” lead the field”.

Thermoplastic materials, for example, must be thixotrophic to be suitable for use on Audible Line Marking (ATLM), wet weather visibility coatings that would sit proud in heavy rain and High reflectivity lines that are fundamental to nighttime highway delineation and safety.
